He was born in Ordu-Ünye in 1956, he is married and has two children.  

He completed primary and secondary school in Ünye and high school in Kabataş Erkek Lisesi.  

In 1979, He graduated from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. He started his specialization in Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1981 and became a specialist in 1986. He started to work as a lecturer at the same Faculty in September 1986. He has worked in the Perinatology Service since 1986. He took place as one of the two founding lecturers in the Perinatology Department, which was first established in Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in Turkey in 1989, and has been working as a Perinatology Department Lecturer since that date. 

Between October 1989 and September 1990, he conducted clinical research on Perinatology and Assisted Reproduction at England-London King’s College School of Medicine and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College. He became Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1992 and Professor in 2001. 

Since 1997, as a Training Center for the Fetal Medicine Foundation, it has been continuing the postgraduate training program on Fetal Medicine. In 2002, he received a Fetal Medicine Diploma, which is accepted as a minor diploma in Fetal Medicine in Europe and America.
